3. Appointment of Officers In accordance with the terms set out above, the below were unanimously approved onto the operating committee:
The club now has a number of levels of member which are somewhat vague and confusing. Founding Members: The six founding members of the original cycle Committee Members: Those on the operating committee, as above. Only ordinary members are eligible to become committee members. Ordinary Members: All those who paid subscription fees in a timely fashion (in pounds sterling, not euros) Associates: All those that have ever appeared for the club by invitation At this point the club does not wish to clarify the distinctions between the role, and the chairman reserves the right to consult with any, or none, of these on any particular decision. The doctrine of Reglus Maous permits the chairman to exercise emergency powers to defend the interests of the club whenever necessary through whatever step. 4. Review of 2017 activities and planned 2017/18 activities: Indoor cricket Indoor cricket performances on and off the field were deemed disappointing and the experience was described variously by Committee Members, Ordinary Members as “crispy”, “bizarre” and “puss”. With six games gone in the LMS South London (Thursday) league CtC sit second in the table, despite a horror start to the season which saw them lose their opening three games.
Since then a run of three victories, two with bonus points have seen them charge up the league and confident of claiming a play off spot as they bid to reach the champions league for the first time. Round 1: CtC 173-6 (Rudkin 41, Davidson 52) lost to Boys without Boundaries 177-1 by 7 wickets Under par with the bat, and insipid with the ball, CtC never really in the hunt. Round 2: CtC 147ao (Davidson 55, Sherwin, 46) lost to Chasing Tails 198-6 (Gimson 2-38) by 51 runs Outclassed by a better side, CtC given a lesson in all departments Round 3: CtC 118-7 lost to Donald Badman 129-8 (Skinner 2-28) by 11 runs Having bowled and fielded well CtC crumbled in what should have been a routine chase, disrupted by the dismissal of Rudkin and Gimson from a double play. Round 4: CtC 179-3 (Skinner 50, Rudkin 50, Parker 30) beat Merkage squad 178-4 (Parker 2-26) by 5 wickets Decent bowling performance with four overs for 23 by Skinner, followed by the batsmen firing in the chase gave CtC a first win of the season. Round 5: CtC 139-0 (Skinner 53, Rudkin 52) beat Boys without boundaries 135-6 by 8 wickets (Gimson 3-33) An excellent bowling performance led by Gimson, Sherwin and Rutt - including a double play caught by Sherwin restricted BwB to a low score which Skinner and Rudkin made short work of Round 6: CtC 204-4 (Dillon 50, Hammond 53) beat Fulham Compton (Rupert Rudkin 3-17, Conway 2-20) by 102 runs A strong batting performance powered by Dillon and Hammond followed by some lusty lower order hitting from Davidson, Carew and Conway was too much for Fulham Compton. |
