CtCCCC today announce an ambitious domestic fixture list for 2018 with a record eight fixtures. Combined with 7 matches played in Rwanda and CtC will almost double their total games played over the course of the season.
Three games return from last year, with keenly anticipated rematches against old adversaries The Moose, our North London friends And That's Lunch and Baggo's summer solstice match vs. Whitgift staff. So successful was the Whitgift fixture that CtC also play them on a Sunday in a 40 over match on the main square at Whitgift in what is unarguably the marquee fixture of the summer. Four new teams make up the fixture list with matches bought in by Rupert (a chance to renew rivalries with our old LMS adversaries Zapoi); Simon (The Optimists CC), James "The Jester" Lester (Commons Old Boys) and, quite astonishingly, through a cold contact - The Strongroom CC who we play on a Saturday in June. Director of Cricket Henry Rudkin said "I've been worried about the boys changing between formats so I requested to the chairman that we play fixtures in blocks, I'm therefore pleased to see three Friday night T20 in June and July at Regent's Park where the boys can really focus on their short form game. I'm particularly looking forward to watching Tom Sherwin in this format who has a bullet arm, bowls rockets and clears the ropes Additional early summer 40 over matches provide further depth to the fixture list and will present our growing stable of seam bowlers an opportunity to pick up some cheap wickets and boost their stats and confidence on the inevitable green tops. The batsmen’s techniques will no doubt be tested by the unfamiliar exposure to a moving red ball. ". Full fixtures are as follows:
We're still looking for a fixture in September.
