CtCCCC today confirmed an unprecedented tenth a fixture for 2018, with a season's finale against London Fields CC at London Fields on September 29th.
CtC chairman George Dean said "London fields play in one of the nicest grounds in London and it's an honor to have a fixture against them. Combined with fixtures against Moose, Strongroom and Pacific CC we are starting to make inroads into the London circuit" DoC Henry Rudkin replied "This is practically October, are you joking?" Club chef Hugh Pemberton said "This is ideal, I'll wheel my barbecue down and lead the circuit after".

CtCCCC today confirmed a ninth fixture for 2018, with a late September fixture against Pacific CC, who play at Wrey Crescent Oval (home of our north London friends And That's Lunch).
CtC chairman George Dean said "Since stumbling across the website for Pacific CC last season they have been a firm target of mine for a fixture list. This is a club that plays all the way from Easter Monday to the last weekend of October and that level of badgery has to be respected. I enquired about a fixture at one o'clock yesterday lunchtime and it was confirmed and on their website by tea. Unreal admin". DoC Henry Rudkin replied "Dunno about September cricket mate, bit rogue". CtCCCC completed a hugely successful tour of Rwanda in February.
On the field CtC played 7 matches, winning three, losing three and one rained off. The highlight was undoubtedly a thrilling match against the national team which came down to the very last ball - CtC 9 wickets down and needing four to win - which resulted in a loss by two runs. Off the field CtC spent time coaching in a local school alongside Cricket Without Boundaries and donated cricket kit to the Rwanda Cricket Association. The Natwest Stump for Best Cricketer: Jamie Rutt The Lime award for Best Tourist: Tom Parker The Mutzing Light Champagne Moment: Ed Pearson (ct. Rudkin, bowled Davidson first ball) Cannon: Nat Gimson Golf 'Champ': Rory Davidson Full match report, statistics and photos to follow. CtC have now completed fundraising efforts for Cricket Builds Hope with £12,350 handed by the club to over plus almost £1,000 of direct donations. Thank you to everyone who supported our events and donated.
CtCCCC today announce an ambitious domestic fixture list for 2018 with a record eight fixtures. Combined with 7 matches played in Rwanda and CtC will almost double their total games played over the course of the season.
Three games return from last year, with keenly anticipated rematches against old adversaries The Moose, our North London friends And That's Lunch and Baggo's summer solstice match vs. Whitgift staff. So successful was the Whitgift fixture that CtC also play them on a Sunday in a 40 over match on the main square at Whitgift in what is unarguably the marquee fixture of the summer. Four new teams make up the fixture list with matches bought in by Rupert (a chance to renew rivalries with our old LMS adversaries Zapoi); Simon (The Optimists CC), James "The Jester" Lester (Commons Old Boys) and, quite astonishingly, through a cold contact - The Strongroom CC who we play on a Saturday in June. Director of Cricket Henry Rudkin said "I've been worried about the boys changing between formats so I requested to the chairman that we play fixtures in blocks, I'm therefore pleased to see three Friday night T20 in June and July at Regent's Park where the boys can really focus on their short form game. I'm particularly looking forward to watching Tom Sherwin in this format who has a bullet arm, bowls rockets and clears the ropes Additional early summer 40 over matches provide further depth to the fixture list and will present our growing stable of seam bowlers an opportunity to pick up some cheap wickets and boost their stats and confidence on the inevitable green tops. The batsmen’s techniques will no doubt be tested by the unfamiliar exposure to a moving red ball. ". Full fixtures are as follows:
We're still looking for a fixture in September. |
