The Gandhi, Kennington Lane
Thursday June 22nd, 9pm
1. Chairman's welcome remarks and apologies
The Chairman welcomed the attendees and announced apologies from Pearson E, Pemberton, Sherwin, Roberts and Gimson.
2. Club membership and structure
The acting co-sec explained the following:
This AGM has been called for three reasons:
3. Appointment of Officers
In accordance with the terms set out above, the below were unanimously approved onto the operating committee:
The club now has a number of levels of member which are somewhat vague and confusing.
Founding Members: The six founding members of the original cycle
Committee Members: Those on the operating committee, as above. Only ordinary members are eligible to become committee members.
Ordinary Members: All those who paid subscription fees in a timely fashion (in pounds sterling, not euros)
Associates: All those that have ever appeared for the club by invitation
At this point the club does not wish to clarify the distinctions between the role, and the chairman reserves the right to consult with any, or none, of these on any particular decision. The doctrine of Reglus Maous permits the chairman to exercise emergency powers to defend the interests of the club whenever necessary through whatever step.
4. Review of 2017 activities and planned 2017/18 activities:
Indoor cricket performances on and off the field were deemed disappointing and the experience was described variously by Committee Members, Ordinary Members as “crispy”, “bizarre” and “puss”. It is proposed not to re-enter the Whitechapel indoor league this season. It is is also noted that this will allow time for nets in preparation for Rwanda. The club intends to maintain its excellent relationship with the Whitechapel community by continuing to host its Xmas festivities in the area.
2016 saw an enjoyable first season in Last Man Stands cricket. 2017 has begun in similar fashion and it is proposed we continue.
Red ball cricket
Season 2017 sees us increase the number of red ball games from two to three with one sunday game (Moose) and two evening gamers (Whitgift and ATL). 2018 fixtures to be reviewed in September. Suggestions for future fixtures are to be made to and ignored by the chairman.
5. Approval of Accounts
The accounts, as presented below, were signed off by the attendees
*To be split with ATL
**One payments of £95 outstanding
6. Tribunal of B.L.R. Cassels
Ben charged with misrepresenting the club and its officers and unauthorised use of the full email email contact list. Although written good character references are invited in advance of the AGM none are expected. The club is looking to make an example of Ben that will deter future misuse and misrepresentation of the club’s intellectual property.
Ben was warned for future conduct but not disciplined further.
